Watch this video about the Yes-benches in Jelsa! The myth says that whoever gets proposed to on these benches cannot say no. Jelsa is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway with cosy, small houses along the fjord, the hand painted church, a good lunch at Jelsa hotell or a perfect date playing discgolf!
"If you're in Vanvik: take a stroll along the Ørlandsvegen road - a girl from Vanvik called the road the love path a long time ago. Have a break at Holadn and look west; on Vanvik, on the Hylsfjord, at the mountains, and the sky, study the nature around you, listen to what it tells you. After a while at Holadn, maybe with a packed lunch, have a nice walk. Be aware of where you step - it's steep at Holadn."
- Kjell-Gunnar (NRK).
"If you want to find the most romantic, and most beautiful fjord in Rogaland you must go to Økstrafjorden." (between Jelsa and Erfjord)
- Marton Frantzen (NRK).
While you are there you might want to stop by Fuglestein Fruktgard and buy some apple cider for later.
Hjerterunden in Fjellsbergsskardet is a perfect hike for a first date. Take in the beautiful views while getting to know each other. Park at Hedlebrekk and follow the tractor road until you see the sign for Hjerterunden. The hike takes about 1 hour.
"The most romantic place in Rogaland is without doubt the kissing rock next to Lølandssteinen in Sand in Ryfylke!"
Marny Skeie Henkel (henta frå NRK).
Combine the trip to the kissing rock with the Sand safari hike. Start and end your trip in the city centre of Sand and visit one of our cafes for a perfect end to the date - with romantic fjord views.
"Foldøy in Ryfylke!"
- Laila Teig Toadalen (NRK).
Foldøy is an island located between Jelsa and Hebnes - and makes for a perfect base for taking day trips to the vinyeards in Hebnes, or the town of Jelsa. Enjoy!
Extra treasures: In Suldal you can sleep in cosy cabins and hotel bed with fjord views. Multiple accommodations also offer saunas or jacuzzis - a perfect place for a date.
