The cycle tour starts in the Gullingen area, where you can park in a car park by the Mosvatnet or at the Gullingen tourist centre. From here you take the paved road north towards Suldalsheiane known as "Blåsjøvegen" to Norway's largest dam system Blåsjø, which is a collection of over 10 large and small lakes. The road was laid during the construction period of the Ulla Førre plant, which is Northern Europe's largest hydropower development, and to this day the plant accounts for 7.5% of the annual power production in Norway.
The Blåsjøvegen from Gullingen to Blåsjø is approximately 20 km long and gives you spectacular views of beautiful natural scenery, where you usually have the road to yourself. Here you come close to a number of beautiful mountain lakes, waterfalls, bathing areas, fishing grounds and hiking routes. The beautiful swimming pool just after Øvre Moen has become a popular stop for those on a trip in the area. You won't be in any doubt when you approach the dam plant as the highest fill dam in Norway, Oddatjøndammen, looms ahead of you. Once up on Blåsjø you get a fantastic view of the reservoir.
From Oddatjøndammen you can cycle further inland to Førrevassdammen (a total of 25 km one way) and Storvassdammen (35 km one way).
