Holmevasshytta Tourist Cabin

Holmevasshytta is Stavanger Trekking Association's highest located cabin at 1130 meters. The cabin is within a day's reach from Haukeliseter or a half-day's trip from Sandvatnet in Suldal (on the route between Bleskestadmoen and Holmavatnet).

The cabin at Holmavatnet is beautifully situated on the wide Fidjaflaten with a magnificent view of Holmavatn. This was the former travel route between Roalkvam and Flothyl. Holmavatn is a self-service cabin with provisions and is accessible year-round.

You can choose to sleep in the main cabin or in the annex nearby. The main cabin has 20 beds, and the annex has 6 beds. Please note that Holmevatn is closed for the first two weeks of the reindeer hunting season each year. If you have any questions, please contact the Stavanger Trekking Association. Payment can be made via a payment authorization or by downloading the DNT app before departure.

In the summer, access is via marked trails from Haukeliseter to Holmevatn cabin (6 hours). There are also marked routes to Kvanndalen, Bleskestadmoen, and partially marked routes to Sloaros. Trails are marked to/from Haukeliseter during school winter break, and from March 1st to Sloaros and further to Bleskestadmoen until Easter.

STF membership cards are valid as fishing permits on the Rogaland side of Holmavatnet and along Bleskestadåna, including Sandvatnet and Litlavatnet. Others must purchase fishing permits available on inatur.no.
