The pilgrimage route from Suldal to Røldal

 In the Middle Ages, Røldal was one of Norway's most important pilgrimage destinations, second only to Nidaros Cathedral. The tour takes in great terrain through Suldal .
 

Embarking on a pilgrimage is easy. Along the established pilgrimage paths, you can walk alone or with family and friends at any time. All churches are holy, and thus a place of pilgrimage. By letting one or more churches become destinations, you can create your own pilgrimages and traditions.

The pilgrimage from Suldal to Røldal starts at Nesflaten, where you follow the signs from Engjaland over to Botnen. In Mokleiv, a farm that was formerly under Røldal church, they also organize regular tours where you can also visit the famous Olavsseglet. Read more here .
