The village comes alive in the summer with many tourists and visitors. At Jelsa you can visit the very special Jelsa church with a hand-painted starry sky, the school museum and you can swim from the beach. They have a local grocery store and you can find a petrol pump in the area. There are several great cycling and hiking trails in the area.
