Close to nature and traditions

Entering the doors of Mo Laksegard is just like entering a British salmon castle. Classic furniture and a picture of a happy fisherman with a record salmon in his lap adorn the walls together with a picture of King Olav when he was on a fishing trip in Suldal. Outside in the bar, you sit under a glass roof and look straight out at the popular pool, which functions both as a training pool for the guests who will try the Salmon Safari, but also as a swimming pool when the temperature is good. They have 40 beds, divided between cabins, apartments and rooms.

Good nature experiences

Mo Laksegard offers a number of great experiences close to the river and the surrounding area. Salmon safari is a unique offer where you can float down the river wearing a drysuit, mask and snorkel to explore life in Suldalslågen. It's quite magical when you get the big salmon so close to you.

"We would like to give our guests a unique experience. They will get to feel how special it is to float down the river and see the salmon floating below you. Or they will get to sit around the fire up in our wilderness camp and enjoy good, local food." , says owner Bjørn Moe. They also offer a river expedition, where you go down the mighty river in rafts.

In 2021, Mo Laksegard also launched a completely new product: the Moskjelen company area. They have excavated an almost 100 meter deep pothole that has given the area its name. From the Moskjelen you can gather people and teams where you can enjoy serving local specialties with a view of Suldalslågen. The area also has its own sauna stove, cultural trail and hot tub.

Local food taxes

Short-traveled food is also a stamp of quality at the salmon farm, for example they get wild boar delivered from the neighbor in the village. Short distances to good ingredients also give good results in the kitchen, where tasty dishes are conjured up. The company also brews its own beer, which you can buy in the bar. The types of beer have of course been given local names such as Mørk Suldal and Glad Laks. In addition, they offer beer tasting and a tour of the brewery as a separate product.
